About Me

Relational‑Trauma Counselling for Young People and Adults — Trauma‑Informed, Person‑Centred Support in Peterborough and Online Across the UK

My Story

Hi, I’m Tonya. I offer a safe, steady space when life feels heavy. My work focuses on supporting people affected by early relational difficulties — the kinds of experiences that can leave you doubting yourself, feeling unseen, or struggling to trust others.

Therapy with me is a partnership: you lead the way, and I walk alongside you. I listen without judgement, respect your pace, and shape sessions around what feels most supportive.

Over time, many people notice gentle shifts — feeling a little steadier, breathing easier, or finding more clarity in their relationships. I understand how early experiences and difficult dynamics, whether recent or long‑past, can influence how you feel and relate to yourself.

My path to counselling grew from my own lived experiences, which taught me the importance of having a calm, accepting space to explore feelings without fear of judgement. Becoming a counsellor has been a lifelong goal, rooted in the belief that everyone deserves to feel heard, supported, and able to reconnect with themselves.

My approach is always gentle, manageable, and centred around your needs. Together, we create space for clarity, confidence, and more authentic ways of relating to yourself and others.

My Values

  • Compassion — meeting you with warmth and empathy, even when words are hard to find.
  • Respect — honouring your pace and choices, without pressure or judgement.
  •  Safety — creating a space where you feel grounded and in control.
  • Authenticity — showing up as a real person, not a distant professional.
  • Clarity — no jargon, just straightforward, human conversations.
  • Empowerment — supporting you to reconnect with your strengths and confidence.

These values shape every session. Counselling with me is about building a trusting, compassionate relationship where you can speak openly, reconnect with yourself, and move forward at a pace that feels right for you.
